This updated version of the FXr has taken this low profile PFD to the next level. The Palm FXr is the ultimate choice for freedom of movement and style. The FXr is also great for young and petite paddlers as sizes start at XXS.
The FXr is the ultimate buoyancy aid for rivers‚ freestyle, or racing - do it all with onf PFD. The comfiest‚ coolest looking buoyancy aid you'll find. It has the comfort and simplicity of the FX and fitted it out with a rescue harness and pumped up the floatation, to create a super versatile whitewater PFD.
I am certified
These PFDs pass ISO 12402-5 (water sports) and ISO 12402-6 (paddlesport) standards. The majority of our PFDs have up to 20% more buoyancy than the ISO/CE standard and our whitewater models have up to 40% more buoyancy than the 50 N required. Palm were the first to make PFDs to these ISO standards.
Cordura fabric
Fabric with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, and high resistance to tears and abrasion. We use CORDURA for the seat and knee areas of technical outerwear and for other high wear gear such as PFDs and throwlines.
Comfort fit
Layered sheets of soft foam conform to your body shape keeping the PFD comfortable and secure.
Removable chest harness
Our chest harness fastens using a Fixlock buckle with a load spreader; closing firmly yet releasing quickly in an emergency. Strong nylon webbing is mounted high up the back of the PFD for stability under load and carries a welded stainless steel O-ring for a cowtail or to clip a karabiner.
Failsafe shoulder straps
A continuous loop of webbing (tested to 5 kN) runs through to the PFD down to the 3D waistbelt for security under load. They tighten without bunching thanks to the enclosed pulley system. Excess webbing can be stored in strap keeper pockets on top of the front panel of the PFD.
3D Ati-ride up waistbelt
A grippy rubber finish prevents your PFD from riding up when in use, and the adjustable waistbelt is positioned on the inside of the buoyancy foam panel for full contact around your waist.
Free Range Sizing
In the Palm range of kit if you fit a medium jacket, it's likely you will also fit a medium in the rest of their thermals, pants and Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) – but everyone is different. Nothing beats actually trying on this gear for true size and fit, and also the comfort factor is very important if you are going to be wearing it all day.
Weight – include all the gear you’ll be wearing too. PFD buoyancy label: A correct fit is more important than choosing the buoyancy category according to your weight. All Palm PFDs have buoyancy above the minimum floatation required for CE/ISO certification.
