The Sweet Protection Wanderer Helmet 2024 is a dependable helmet that has been a firm favourite since its initial introduction in 2008, it has since been updated several times to the super tough, all-rounder it is today.
Perfect for all-round river use, and one of the best sellers when it comes to protective wear for watersports, the Wanderer Helmet 2024 features a super impact-resistant injection-molded ABS thermoplastic shell that has been constructed with special rubber-toughened production to offer high levels of durability and protective performance. The polymer shell has also been reinforced with carbon-fibre (CRP) that helps to provide an incredible strength to weight ratio in addition to high rigidity and impact performance by laminating fibres with different properties and directions to create a super-light and optimized shell.
The Wanderer Helmet 2024 also features a molded expanded Polypropylene (EPP) liner that provides long-lasting shock absorption. It can cope with high energy levels and comes with some memory ability for additional comfort. The shock-absorbing liner is also super light, allowing you to almost forget you are wearing it! The Wanderer is the only Sweet Protection Helmet in the whitewater range that features direct ventilation to keep you cool thanks to optimal air circulation and comes with a Coolmax liner that boasts moisture-wicking properties alongside being hypoallergenic so that you can remain comfortable in a range of temperatures and environments.
The Wanderer Helmet boasts an Occigrip construction that provides a firm and comfortable fit using "micro-adjustments", being easily adjustable in both reach and height with a low volume mechanism and comes with fit pads that you can place wherever you want for the ultimate personalised fit.
ABS Thermoplastic Shell
Our injection moulded ABS Thermoplastic Shell is very impact resistant through it's special rubber toughened construction. The shell is molded with extreme precision to offer the best performance to weight ratio.
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Shell
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Shell (CRP) provides an incredible strength to weight ratio, rigidity and impact performance. By carefully laminating fibers with different properties and directions, we're able to create a superlight, optimized helmet shell. An invention from the cold war put to good use.
Gate Shields
Gate Shields are EPP (Expanded Polypropylene) with polycarbonate shells in-moulded into the main EPS liner to protect the shock absorbing structure of the helmet from gate impacts. The Gate shields are placed both in the front and the back of the helmet, as the gates tend to bend after an impact in the front, and hit the helmet in the back as well.
EPS Liner
The advanced EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) Liner is constructed with variable bridge-and channel volume in order to optimise the overall impact protection performance.
Occigrip Turndial
Makes the helmet easily adjustable with a low volume mechanism. The Occigrip construction provides a firm and comfortable fit and prevents the helmet from rolling on your head. Adjustable in both reach and height.
CoolMax Liner
A stitched, full covering liner made from the anti-allergenic and moisture wicking Coolmax material. It provides great comfort in a wide range of temperatures.
Direct Ventilation
Keeps your head cool. The number of vents and their configuration varies. The more vents, the cookler you will be.
Fitpads
Place as you please for the ultimate personalised fit.
To find the right size, wrap a measuring tape around the head, just above the ears. Try to keep it level front to back. Once you have your measurement, you can use the chart below as a guide. Replacement: Your helmet is made to absorb some of the potential energy of a blow. Even though damage may not be visible or apparent, it is infinitely important that any helmet having suffered from a major impact in an accident, or has received a similarly severe blow, should be replaced. An inspection of the helmet might not reveal any apparent damage, but it might be there. Sweet Protection also advise that any helmet should be replaced after approximately three years of normal use, or even sooner if exposed to long periods of sun, hard use, or any contact with chemicals. The helmet must also be replaced if it does not fit anymore.
For cleaning, use clean water (max temperature 30°C) and mild soap only. Dry naturally and not in contact with direct heat or on hot surfaces.
Avoid any applications of paint, adhesive stickers/transfers, cleaning fluids, chemicals and other solvents that may drastically reduce the protection given by this helmet.
The helmet will be damaged if exposed to temperatures exceeding 62°C (ca. 150°F). Please note that leaving the helmet in the window of your car (or similar) on a warm and sunny day, it may easily exceed this temperature. If exposed to such temperatures, the helmet must be immediately discarded and replaced.
